Meet the Maker

Hi, my name is Nadia and I’m the maker behind Naia Heirlooms.

My love for jewellery and gemstones began as a little girl in rural South Africa. My grandfather, a retired miner, would show me his gemstones, from pieces of rose quartz scattered through the garden to the pink diamond he had made into a ring for my grandmother.

He taught me to look closely at the earth, to notice the shimmer in a stone, and to find beauty in small, simple things.

When I moved to Australia as a child, that fascination only grew. My mother homeschooled me and encouraged my creativity, adding lapidary (gemstone cutting) and bead-making to my lessons. I made my first opal ring when I was ten, and I still remember the feeling of wonder seeing that light come alive inside the stone.

Many years later, I studied silversmithing and began turning that lifelong love into something tangible, a practice of making slow, meaningful jewellery by hand.

About Naia Heirlooms

Naia Heirlooms is a slow jewellery brand rooted in the art of stillness, craftsmanship, and connection. Each piece is thoughtfully handmade by me using fine sterling silver and solid gold, designed to become timeless symbols of self-expression, femininity, and heritage.

Born from a lifelong fascination with the earth’s treasures, Naia reflects my journey from cutting opals as a child to silversmithing as an adult, a story of returning home to creativity, to craft, and to purpose. Every creation embodies the essence of the earth, it's natural, luminous, and grounding.

Guided by the belief that jewellery should be more than decoration, Naia Heirlooms invites you to slow down, adorn with intention, and honour the stories that make you who you are. These are pieces to wear every day, to hold memories, and to one day pass down as heirlooms born of heart and hands.
